Whitewright ISD Child Nutrition Department

My name is Teresa Mandrell and I am the Director of Child Nutrition Programs at Whitewright ISD. School year 2008-2009 will be my 7th year working in the district and I have enjoyed being able to work with your children on a daily basis. The Child Nutrition Program at Whitewright ISD follows the dietary guidelines set by USDA and we also follow the Texas Public School Nutrition Policy. For parents who have children with nutritional concerns, I do keep a Child Nutrition Label Facts book at each campus which has nutrition information on all the foods that we serve. I also have one of these books in my office. I am always open to any suggestions from parents and appreciate any input. If there are ever any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at (903) 364-2424 ext. 136. You can always find out all you need to know about the School Nutrition Policy at www.squaremeals.org. They also have a lot of nutritional information & recipes for parents and coloring pages and other ideas for children.

For anyone that does not know what the Texas Public School Nutrition Policy is, I have informational brochures in my office that you are welcome to pick up. I have posted the lunch menues on this website and I will update it regularly. Just click on the calendar tab on the side under the home tab.

Whitewright ISD participates in the National School Lunch & Breakfast Program and we have applications in each campus office and also in the Child Nutrition Director's office. They are available to fill out at any time during the school year if you have any changes in income, household size or circumstances.

I would also like to mention the wonderful child nutrition staff that we have at Whitewright I.S.D.. Without them, we wouldn't be able to take such good care of your children. They do an awesome job learning all the children's likes and dislikes.
