News for the month of April
for your child to improve their reading skills, I recommend they read AT LEAST
20 minutes every night.
second grade will begin the state test TNReady Test. This test is NOT to be
taken lightly. Being a parent myself, I
know you want your child to do their very best at ANYTHING they attempt. Here
are a few suggestions to help your child do their very best:
1. Discuss with
your child about reading each test item carefully.
2. Think about
what they have just read.
3. Use what
they have learned this year. All
learning this year will in some way apply in some way to the test.
4. Get to bed
between 8:30 and 9:00 pm. Studies show school age children need 8-10 hours of
sleep each night.
5. Have a
hearty breakfast each morning.
