Gering Kindergarten Essential Skills
Math
Our goal is for your child to be able to do the following by the end of Kindergarten:

1.  Write numbers 1-20

2.  Correctly read randomly selected numbers between 
    1 and 100

3.  Count objects using 1 to 1 correspondence

4.  Demonstrate the meaning of words like longest, shortest, more, less, some, next, and places-i.e. first through tenth

5.  Be able to sort similar objects into groups

6.  Know the following- over/under, above/below,  behind/in front of, left/right, up/down, near/far

   7. Be able to measure with nonstandard units
       (heavier vs. lighter, hot vs. cold)
       (toothpicks, nails, cubes, etc.)
