I grew up in the Pittman Center area of Sevier County and attended Pittman Center Elementary School through the eighth grade. Then I spent my high school years at Gatlinburg Pittman High School. I graduated from Maryville College with a degree in Child Development. I earned my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. I also have an Education Specialist degree in Administration from Lincoln Memorial University. I taught at Pigeon Forge Primary for one year. For the last ten years, I have enjoyed teaching children at Pi Beta Phi. Both of my children are alumni of Pi Phi. I love this school! I am blessed to teach and work with such a caring, smart, creative staff in a community that is always willing to help and support our school.
My husband, Chuck, and I have a daughter who is a pediatrician. Her undergraduate degree and medical degree are from Vanderbilt University. Our son is a student at the University of Tennessee. He is a runner on the University of TN Cross Country and Track Teams. We enjoy cheering for the Vols. Go Big Orange!
I enjoy hiking in our beautiful Great Smoky Mountains National Park, learning about nature, working out, skiing, running, cooking and eating, biking, and reading. I also really enjoy Christian music, both comtemporary and old-timey hymns of praise and worship. It's always a joy in my life to have the opportunity to spend time with my children.
