Hello! My name is Lucy Puente. I have taught in P.I.I.S.D. for 33 years. I have taught first grade bilingual and G.T. classes.This year I will be the Reading Literacy Teacher. I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with students in providing additional instruction in Reading.
Students will be taught in intensive small-group instruction to help develop phonemic awareness, phonetic decoding, reading fluency, and comprehension.My goal is to help students gain proficiency in areas critical for building reading success.
It's very important that the parents and I work together as a team to ensure that your child has a rewarding school year.
