Welcome to Mrs. Hellier's first grade!!!

 

First grade is an exciting year.  The students look foward to improving their reading skills, as well as learning to add and subtract.  First graders enjoy learning about about our world.  We will study science topics such as weather, environments and space.  We will also be using a new math series this year.

 

I love teaching first grade.  It is my favorite!! I have been teaching for 23 years, with 21 years being in the Florida public schools.  My husband, Jeff, teaches 3rd grade at Gulf Elementary School.  We live in Cape Coral with our 2 sons. We also have 2 dogs.  We enjoy traveling and doing family activities.
