I wonder

For some reason people think its ok to “agree to disagree” and leave it at that. Me included.

Now I’m not so sure, particularly in close relationships. At times in order to move on with your day/life it is very important to put a conversation on the shelf – but never let it collect dust. To permanently “agree to disagree”means that you’ll eventually be revisiting the issue because the two involved failed to reach to understand where the other person is ‘coming from.’

Acknowleging another person’s perspective does not mean you agree with where they land in their opinion, but it gives you a frame of reference or the path that led to their conclusion. It’s at that point you understand them. (And not necessarily agree.) You realize that though their conclusion may be flawed, they may not necessarily have bad motives.

You can then address the issue from a more sympathetic stance and maybe even reach a certain point of agreement and avoid potentially eroding the relationship because people feel misunderstood.

There is very little worse than that feeling.

Don't agree to disagree. reach to understand.

If you truely try your hardest and for some reason you fail...Do you get emotiomal and walk away? Do you say "well I did my best what more can I do?

It is said Eeinstein failed many things, many times. Thomas Edison failed different things he tried. Many very smart people have failed. Failure made them stronger. They became more determined to acheive their goals.

So again I ask, what would you do if you failed at something????? Give yourself an honest answer.

You may think your actions are meaningless or insignificant. However, every action has some sort of reaction. It is like throwing a stone in a lake and you see the ripples created by the stone hitting the water. It is a ripple effect. You really do not know how far those ripples travel. The same is with your actions. When you do something, good or bad there is some effect somewhere. You want the effect of your actions to be on the positive side as much as possible. You, most always have control of that ripple effect. How do you want your ripples to effect life, positive I would hope.

Rumor has it, that no two snow flakes are alike. On our next snow fall go outside and watch the flakes. Ask yourself how can it be that only 1 design, no duplication for every flake. Who created this? How can this happen? Is it true? Write to me on my guest page with some of your ideas.

It is great to have knowledge of many things, would it be greater still to be a specialist of one?

HOW TO STAY YOUNG , BE WISE and ENJOY LIFE.
unknown author.

1.
Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'

2.
Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. You can certainly try to help grouches be more cheerful.

3.
Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'

4.
Enjoy the simple things.

5.
Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6.
The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7.
Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge ..

8.
Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9.
Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10.
Tell the people you love that you love them , at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER
:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but  by the moments that take our breath away.

If everybody in the world were to take just one day and be nice to everybody they met, how nice would our world be.

Or if everybody in our own country did this. People would be nice to each other. No rumors, name calling or hitting.

What about if everybody in our school did this??? How nice would this be.

I wonder, can we get everybody to be nice for a day? What do you think. Maybe we could call it "be nice to everybody today," day.

I have here a short poem I would love to have you read. Please?

                                                         Who am I

I am your constant companion. I am
your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or take you down
to failure. I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do you might just as
well turn them over to me and I will be able to do
                                               them quickly and correctly.

I am easily managed--you must merely
be firm with me. Show me exactly how you
want something done and after a few
lessons I will do it automatically.I am the
servant of all great individuals and, alas,of
of all failures, as well. Those who are great, I
I have made great. Those who are failures,
                                                I have made failures.

I am not a machine, though I work
with all the precision of a machine plus
the intelligence of a human. You may run me
for a profit or run me for ruin--it
                                     makes no difference to me.

Take me, train me, be firm with me,
and I will place the world at your feet. Be
easy with me and I will destroy you.

                                             Who am I ?

                                             I am habit.

This was taken from Sean Covey.

" What the smartest and wisest parent wants for their children, the whole community must want for all the children"
John Dewey

I find it hard to imagine how difficult it must be to be a kid these days; after all you have your parents tugging in one direction, teachers in another, and your friends in still another.
The good thing about being pulled in different directions, you have choices. You can make a good choice, a wise choice. The choice that will help you. You can listen to that choice that says " you know better, this is what you should do. There is always that choice that you know is wrong. You know it to be wrong to make a bad choice from peer pressure. Or from a challenge. Yet you may be tempted to choose that direction anyway.
Remember to every choice you decide to make there will be some sort of reaction. A good reaction or a bad reaction. It is always your choice.

Challenge (How challenged, how emotionally involved, and how committed are you to yourself?) Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in yourself enough to meet challenges head on knowing you can win?
